Bio:
Matthew is a PhD candidate in the Cognitive and Information Sciences department. Before entering the CIS PhD program, Matthew earned a dual B.S. in mathematics and physics from Syracuse University in Syracuse, NY, an M.S. with thesis from Rice University in Houston, TX, and worked as a data engineer and research software developer at EMSI and the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho. Matthew’s dissertation will further our understanding of how people form opinions in small and large groups using theory, computation, and behavioral experiments.
